17th Season Line-up

Sunday - October 15, 2017 – 4  pm       Battle of the Organists

Acclaimed duo organists David McCarthy and Christopher Deibert are at it once again as they go head-to-head
in this Battle Royale on the King of Instruments. This program will feature the dynamic duo improvising on audience-submitted themes both individually and in duet-style, as well as performing both French Classic/Baroque and French Romantic repertoire.  A wine and cheese Meet-the-Artists reception will follow.

Sunday - November 26, 2017 – 4  pm       The City Winds Trio

Back for an encore performance, Crispian Fordham, Meredyth Coleman, and Jack Bender return to
St. Mary’s by popular demand.  This New Jersey based flute-oboe-piano trio regularly delights audiences with
the virtuosity of their stunning musicianship.  Performing well-loved favorites plus some unknown gems, this
concert will have something for everyone.  A wine and cheese Meet-the-Artists reception will follow.

Saturday - December 16, 2016 - 7:30  pm       Handel’s Messiah

Saint Mary Chamber Orchestra & Chorus
Christopher M.C. Deibert - Conductor

Come join the South Amboy/Sayreville community for the Saint Mary Chamber Orchestra and
Choral Society’s annual presentation of George Frederik Handel’s timeless oratorio.  Under the direction of
Maestro Christopher M. C. Deibert, conductor, the Advent/Christmas portion of this work will be performed in its entirety, along with excerpts from the second and third parts.  Don’t miss this delightful candlelit concert, set in beautiful Victorian-gothic architectural surroundings.

Friday - December 22, 2017 - 7  pm       Christmas Carol Sing-Along

There’s no better way to warm your soul and cheer your heart than with Christmas Cookies and Hot Chocolate. Join Chris Deibert and the Saint Mary Choir for a fun night of Christmas nostalgia and a carol Sing-Along. This concert will benefit the choir’s pilgrimage trip to the Vatican in 2019.

Saturday - January 20, 2018 - 7  pm       Choral Art Society

This magnificent choral ensemble, under the direction of Martin Sedek, returns to Saint Mary’s by popular demand,
after their stunning performance in January 2017.  This 50+ voice choir will be performing Palestrina’s Missa Brevis, Monteverdi’s Beatus Vir, and Durufle’s Requiem.  Nothing warms up cold January nights better than the warm sounds of delicious choral tones.  A reception will follow the concert.

Sunday - February 18, 2018 - 4  pm       Carolyn Enger

Making her debut performance at Saint Mary’s, Pianist Carolyn Enger has gained critical acclaim for her lyrical and dynamic playing, her deeply felt interpretations of works from Beethoven and Schubert to contemporary music, and her warm personal approach.  Ms. Enger has a special gift for creating original and intriguing programs that range from European masterworks to fresh discoveries. A Meet-the-Artist reception will follow the concert. 

Sunday - May 20, 2018 - 4  pm – Tenth Annual      Mozart Festival

The Saint Mary Chamber Orchestra

MASM is pleased to present its final concert of the season - The Saint Mary Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Christopher M. C. Deibert.  The SMCO will feature teenage piano sensation Matthew Tricarico in a stunning performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto #12 in A Major.  Additionally, the concert will feature the winds
of the orchestra as they perform Mozart’s Serenade No. 11 for Winds in Eb Major.  The program will conclude with Symphony No. 40 in g minor.  Come and help us toast the middle of springtime with this unparalleled music. 
A celebratory wine and cheese reception will follow the concert.
